Tip #5- Review your web site and business literature to make sure your company’s statements regarding ISO 9001 and AS9100 include the revision of the standard, and the registrar that certified you when applicable
ANAB has recently been looking at the way companies are using ISO 9001 and AS9100 on their web sites. Did you know that you are not supposed to use ISO 9001 without indicating its current revision? Saying that you are an ISO 9001 company is not acceptable, but saying that you are an ISO 9001:2015 company is considered accurate.
Did you know that you are also expected to reference the registrar that certified you when it is applicable?
Whenever possible, we recommend that companies include both the revision and the registrar when mentioning their QMS certifications. E.g., We are an ISO 9001:2015 and an AS9100D company, certified by Registrar, Inc.. In any case, always include the revision with the standard you are referencing.
Also, make sure your ISO 9001 and AS9100 statements do not appear on documents pertaining to any specific product, and that they do not state or imply any promises. E.g., “You can count on high quality and on time delivery because we are an AS9100D certified company” is not acceptable. “Our QMS is AS9100D certified, and we strive to provide high quality and on time delivery” is acceptable.
